Greetings! Hope all is well out there in Track & Field land. I have just completed my first year as President. Boy have I learned a lot! We have made some pretty awesome changes in almost everything. Some great people have stepped up and taken over some important events. I would like to thank all of them for all they do for Cross Country and Track & Field. We would not be
such a great organization without all of you.
Now to let you know what’s going on. Make sure you check out our website for all announcements and new things happening. Remember, too, to check out our hospitality room at the Drake Relays from 11-1 each day. Pizza, sodas, and great conversation. The annual meeting for our association is the first Saturday in June in Ames, starting at 9:30 a.m. We take a short break for lunch and get you on the road by 2 p.m. You have a voice in the IATC…we do and will listen.
I would like to personally thank a few people. Bill Neal has been behind the scenes for me all year with encouragement and advice. Tim O’Neil is 1 st Vice-President and has some great ideas for the upcoming year. Jared Fletcher is 2 nd Vice-President, he is young and ready to go. Last, but not least, is Mike Jay, who is also behind the scenes doing a lot for Track & Field. To these four men, from the bottom of my heart, thanks for all you do. I couldn’t do it without you.
Finally, I just have to bring this up. It’s very important and means a lot to get an award from your peers. All of you work too hard to not pick up the award or contact the IATC. Hope you all understand what I’m talking about. We will do anything to get the award to you.
Feel free to contact me at stroth@iowatelecom.net for any problems or suggestions you have to make our organization even greater than it is. Remember, if you have been coaching for 25 years, make sure you contact Mitch Anderson in Mt. Pleasant to let him know.
Hope to see you all at the State Track Meet in May. Have a safe and successful spring!
Thanks again for all you do,
Steve Roth
President IATC
