I hope the indoor season is off to a great start for all of you.  I have seen some impressive performances already from several different indoor meets.  Keep up the great work with your student athletes.

I want to encourage all of you to get your memberships current with the IATC.  This enables Cross Country and Track & Field coaches and their athletes to be eligible for post-season awards.

This year the Track & Field meeting will be moving to Iowa City West High School.  The meeting is Saturday, June 2nd at 9:30 AM.  We are gracious that they are willing to host.  Thank you to Mike Parker and his staff for taking this on for us.  I must send a special thank you to Kirk Schmaltz and Ben Duea at Ames High School.  They have been wonderful hosts over the last several years and we appreciate the time and effort put into hosting the last several years.  We want to try to move the meeting around in order to hear from more coaches and from different regions.  We hope that this new location will bring more ideas and opinions from coaches from different areas.

Last year was a big undertaking for the IATC.  Our mission was to create as many learning opportunities as possible for our coaches from our member schools.  We are stronger than ever and we want to continue to provide value and resources for our membership.  We have spent a considerable amount of our resources on Coaching Education and opportunities for all of our member coaches.  This year we added the USTFCCCA membership for all of our member schools in which they receive the quarterly publication, Techniques magazine.  We also added the relationship with Glazier Track and Field Clinics where we have access to their video vaults and deeply discounted staff rates to attend their clinic in Kansas City.  Lastly, we added our new partnership with Trackwired.  These guys were awesome to us.  We were the first coach’s association to partner with Trackwired.  With our membership, every school received a sprint training program for your school paid for by the IATC.  They are also offering discount codes on any future purchases made and in return, give back to our organization from any purchases made with the use of those discount codes.  I hope many of you have taken advantage of these opportunities and I am looking forward to add more in the future.

The last thing we added this year is the IATC Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Dubuque on March 24th.  This will be an exciting event to see the best the state has to offer for Indoor Track & Field.   We think this will be an electric atmosphere with a championship style feel to finish off the indoor season.  I look forward to seeing many of you at meets here in the near future

Best of Luck and Health to all of you and your teams this season
