Greetings! The 2021-2022 academic and athletic year is currently in full swing. There have been some outstanding races/results from across the state already this season! Please share all of the information below with your assistant coaches and middle school coaches.

In 2020-2021 we had very strong membership numbers with over 295 high schools, 7 colleges/universities, 4 lifetime individual members, and 2 other individual memberships. We hope to surpass these numbers for 2021-2022 and we are off to a solid start already. All high school AD’s in Iowa should have received a membership invoice back in August. We have several ways in which we accept membership. Membership can also be paid online for high schools HERE. Membership for colleges and universities can be paid HERE.  If paying by check, please go HERE to complete the form and mail with your check to Peggy McGuire (IATC Secretary/Treasurer) at the address listed on the form. If you are unsure if your school has joined or not, please check out our list that we update HERE. We are working to get this list updated for 2021-2022 very soon. If you are unsure if you have paid, please contact Peggy McGuire (peggy.mcguire@msn.com) or Rob Hammann (runrobrun@gmail.com) so we can eliminate double payments. We appreciate your membership!

The IATC Exchange Zone podcast is up and running with three podcasts already produced for the early cross country season. Coordinator Ben Duea and assistant coordinator Kyle Wagner have done a tremendous job in producing these weekly podcasts. Since The Exchange Zone started three years ago, there have been over 33,000 downloads. We just ask coaches to continue to help us spread the word about these podcasts to fans, new families, freshmen, new athletes and your teams! All IATC Exchange Zone podcasts can be streamed on your favorite apps, such as apple podcasts, spotify, spreaker, etc.

We would also like to remind coaches/AD’s to enter their home meets into Varsity Bound including all teams that are attending. To help our rankings committees, please have results entered 24 hours after the completion of the meet.

It is the goal of the IATC Board of Directors to continue to provide our student-athletes with supplemental competitions. The IATC is partnering with Ankeny Centennial to host the Dick Washburn Middle School State Cross Country Meet on Saturday, October 16th.  You can find more information about this meet HERE. The Senior All-Star Cross Country Meet will be held in Pella on Saturday November 6th.  We will release more information about this event in the near future as details are still being finalized.

The IATC is currently looking for a new Apparel Director to begin as soon as possible. This role includes ordering apparel for our middle school state meets/all-star meets/indoor meet, selling apparel at several of our IATC functions, and keeping an updated record of current inventory. There is a paid stipend involved for this position. If you are interested or would like more information, please contact President Jared Fletcher as soon as possible (jared.fletcher@carlislecsd.org).

The IATC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 2022 IATC Indoor Championships at the Lied Recreation Center at Iowa State University on Thursday March 10th (girls) and Friday March 11th (boys).
